Why Storytelling Matters
For most of human history, the way we came to know
one another was simple.
We told stories.
• Around campfires.
• On docks by the lake.
• Walking down roads together.
• Around kitchen tables long after dinner ended.
Stories help us understand one another
• They made us laugh,
• Sometimes they help us carry something difficult,
• And often they reminded us that someone else had lived through something very similar to our own story.
Push Up the Sun is simply a way to bring that tradition back into the room.
One night each month, our community gathers to listen to real stories told by real people.
What Happens at a Storytelling Night
Each evening features several storytellers sharing true stories from their lives based on a theme.

• About 10–12 minutes long
• Told live to the audience
Some stories are funny. Some surprising. Some reflective.
All of them are human.
Some stories make us laugh.
Some make us think.
Some remind us we're not alone.
That's the magic of storytelling.
You Don't Have To Be A Storyteller.
You don't need to be a performer.
You don't need to be a speaker.
You only need a moment from your life that stayed with you.
A first time.
A surprise.
A turning point.
A moment when something changed.

Each gathering has a theme, and stories are true moments from your life - usually about 6-8 minutes long.
